Happy Birthday Face...

Hi Guys,

So it was my birthday on the 24th of October, yay, and i went out last Saturday with a group of mates from work. And as always it turned into bit of a Halloween shin-dig. As a last minute costume i managed to pull together a feline look. But looking past the whiskers and the black nose, here is what i used on my ginourmous face for the night :) Hope You enjoy!...

Random blush (no idea where it is from, Rimmel stay matte powder in, Miss sporty bronzer in, Maybelline dream matte mousse in, collection 2000 matte liquid foundation in ivory, random pinky coloured lipstick, Mary Quant lipstick in Pink Promise, Collection 2000 concealer in medium (no.3), 2 True eyebrow pencil in shade 1, Lancome eye coal, collection 2000 liquid eyeliner. Estee Lauder mascara, Dior mascara, MUA black eyeshadow, Lemon aid concealer/corrector from Benefit, some random brushes and a Dior orangey brown coloured eyeshadow.

I also used this Sleek Storm pallete. I used the matte brown to fill in my eye brows and the matte begie colour over the top of the lemon aid concealer to give a nice plain wash of colour before adding any others.

I used both of these lipsticks. The top one is a completely random lipstick i got in a kit ages ago, none branded. It's a nice natural coloured pink. I then used the bottom lipstick, Mary Quant in Peach Promise to make it a bit brighter and more pinky. The lipsticks aren't as bright as they look in this photo but it's pretty close. I love this colour combination.
I used this orangey brown colour from Dior on the outer section of my eyelid after applying the beige colour from Sleek. It gave my lid more shape. I then ran this black eyeshadow from Superdrugs cheapy brand MUA along the whole of the top lash line gradually getting thicker to the outside and along the bottom lash line on the outer third and smudged it out.

After this i added the liquid liner along my top lash line with a cat like flick. I added both mascaras as one seems to volumise and the other lengthens.... and tah-dah.....eyes sorted!

Completely random blush my friend gave me as she didn't use it, but it's a really nice bright pink colour. I applied this to the apples of my cheeks to match my lips.

... And add some fake blood, a cat nose and whiskers painted in with liquid eyeliner.... and my Halloween birthday face is done!

Break outs...

Hi Guys,

So, i've been suffering from a bit of a break out recently. Disgusting i know, but it's a topic that, in this situation, MUST be discust! I tend to get spotty around my chin area more and a little on my forehead and around my nose (the genral oily areas). I also have a little bit of scaring around my chin from past breakouts.

I had finally had enough of having spotty skin when i started work because it's just not very nice to be honest. So i was watching Barbara, thepersianbabe one day and she was talking about having moderately spot prone skin and mentioned a product called PanOxyl. It's a cream that you dab onto your spotty areas. Mine is in 5.0 (there is also a 2.5 and a 10.0). You can get it over the counter at Boots or your local chemist, it's not prescribed, but needs to be used minimally.

But now onto the main point of this post..... OMG, isn't it amazing!!! I have only been using it for the last 4 days, once a day, sparingly, but i noticed the effects straight away. It may sound discusting but it flakes off any dead skin you have from older spots and has really started clearing up all the scaring! Basically, i love this stuff and if you've got moderatetly bad spots but not as bad as acne i would definitly recommend this stuff. A*******

Winter Wonders...

Hi guys,

It's already September :S But it already feels like it could be December here in England!! So I'm preparing to don the wellies and hoodies and hopefully something maybe a little more fashionable!! Here's what is going to be in for Autumn 2011...

City Chic

Tailoring is really in fashion over the winter period of '11. This means really fitted clothes that looks quite office worthy. This also ties into the boyish trend and 40's glamour trend which are all about very masculine clothes. You can find classic clothes like this anywhere on the high street.Topshop are doing some amazing city shorts at the moment which I love!! The fitted waist really nips you in while the wider gap for the leg makes your pins look slim...
Topshop - £42.00 (also nails the fetish trend with leather waist band!)
Topshop Short - £36.00

Fetish...

Everyone has gone leather and buckle crazy this Autumn/Winter. I really like the look of leather leggings or trousers. But if your going to grab a pair of leather leggings girls make sure your top is long enough to cover your bum!!! At the moment I'm eyeing up these part faux leather trousers on ebay! They would look amazing with possibly a chocker (also one of this seasons trends), a slouchy maroon coloured batwing top and a pair of killer black wedges...

Only an amazing £20!!!

H&M - £19.99
Polka dots...

Polka dots are the pattern to head for this Autmn/ Winter. This trend is brilliant because there is a massive array of polka dot fashion that you can get your hands on, on the high street. It can be as simple as a polka dot vest top or bracelet, or as crazy as a completly dotty dress...

Jewel Tones...

The new colour spectrum for Autumn/Winter 2011 sounds more like a trip to the jewellery store, but with everyone rocking ruby red, emerald green, sumptuious saphire and amazing amytheyst, this years christmas parties are going to be an amazing display of sophisticated colour...

Topshop - £55.00
River Island - £60.00

What does everyone think of the new Autumn/Winter trends for 2011? Do you approve or will you not be following the trends this year?

Shabby Chic...

Hiya Everyone,

At the moment I'm going through a room change. My room is very, i suppose what you would call "classy" looking at the moment but I'm feeling a bit more of a shabby look would suit me better being a bit of a farmer girl. The reason for this, is stumbling across the shabby chic trend. I have actually fallen in love with this!!!

If you are unsure what the shabby chic trend is i shall post some pictures below of what i am talking about. Basically it's what you would imagine "old English" type rooms to look like, with a touch of French thrown in. Enough with the blabbing, here's the shabby chic look...

Everything in this trend reminds me of cupcakes!!! And that's never a bad thing! :P

So, i have some floral wall paper to go up on one of my walls, and i am now scouring the charity shops for any shabby chic-esk accessories. I thought I'd take you on this journey with me. On my next post o will post pics of my bedroom currently. I shall then take you shopping with me, and also show the process of the change in my bedroom. I cannot wait for it to be finished! And i hope you can't either.

So look out for my next few posts, and if you like, let me know what your current favourite trend for everything household orientated is.

Much Love,
Em xxxx

All Work And No Play...

Hiya Guys,

Seeing as Britain was actually suffering from something i think you call sunshine today i thought it would be a good time to show off my new work shoes....

I bought these beauties from New Look believe it or not!! They cost be £15 which isn't bad and they are super soft, made of real suede!!! I have always had problems when wearing pumps because of them usually having a very hard and ridged back but these ones are just glorious!! They only thing is they do come up VERY large. The vast majority of the time i am a size 5 in shoes, but in these a size 4 is still a little on the baggy side. But i think the way they look completely makes up for that.

Another plus to these shoes is that they expose your ankle, which unlike boots is very slimming and due to the fact i have horrendously large calf muscles and rather short legs this is definitely a large plus!

Whats your favourite shoes for work or play?

Much love,

Teal or No Teal...

Hi everyone,

Even though here in England it doesn't really feel like summer (more like a dark and dingy autumn :/ ), i still feel in the summery spirit so decided to paint my nails with Primark's "Teal or No Teal nail polish. I bought it last year and have only actually worn it once, but decided to put a slick on my nails yesterday. I can't believe i haven't used it more! Its such a bright and lovely green, and of coarse i absolutly love green!!!! It is in the "Glo Baby Glo" selection of nail polishes so it's actually UV reactive too!

So i just thought i'd share with you my new nail loving, hope you like. And don't forget Englanders, it may be rubbishy, dull weather outside but you can always add a touch of summer time to your nails to brighten everything up!

Whats your favourite polish this season?

Much Love,

Olsen Love...

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd share with you my mass love for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Being a 90's child i grew up watching their programmes on TV, so have become a massive fan. Now being a little older, i love their fashion sense (the majority of the time), and just the way they are. My guilty pleasure is googling the twins and looking at all the amazing outfits they get to wear. Wouldn't you just kill for their wardrobes :O ..... Any who, i went on a little googling sess and decided to share a few pics of the twins that i am most fond of...

I love the twins "shabby-chic" look. Their outfits look like they were just thrown together but yet work perfectly! What i also love about the twins is the fact their day outfits are very wearable for the average Jo, Derek, Dave or whatever you may wish to call yourself.

I am also a massive fan of the way the twins wear their makeup. The smokey smudgy eye works so perfectly. (such love for the makeup look on the last pic!!! <3 )

What do you lot think of the Olsen twins? Do you love their fashion sense? If not who's your fashion icon/icons?
Much Love,

Work Style...

Hi guys,

So, I've finally managed to get a job!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! It has taken me around a year to actually manage to get one, but now i am going through the crisis of what to wear. It's an office type job so only smart clothes are deemed appropriate, although i don't want to look to over dressed. I have been searching the web for work "street style" and here are a few piccies that i found...

I'm beginning to think i need to buy a pair of smart office friendly loafers and possibly a couple of big cosy cardigans for when the harsh British Winter is in full swing. I best get saving because they aren't cheap!

Much Love,
Em xxx
